May 2023

Both boys are home now – which means we have 43 boxes of cheez-its and run out of food in a hot minute. The “ghost boxes” have returned to the pantry (empty boxes that no one seems to be able to recycle or throw away) and the dishwasher runs almost every day.

Adam arrived home just in time to start his internship at a locally-based international aviation manufacturer. He is an electronics module intern and is now part of the “rat race.” (Fun fact: neither one of the boys had ever heard the term “rat race.” I guess we don’t say that anymore!). He says his job is to design and develop analog and digital electronic circuits, and printed circuit boards (PCBs). His project is to design a PCB that will be used as part of the test equipment and certification process for airplane windshields…. or something like that. Here’s a couple of pics he took of his desk.

Zach is still looking for a job. Loading the dishes and mowing the lawn isn’t enough to qualify as “work.” πŸ˜†

Zach and I went on a Ghost walking tour in the Delano district. In the late 1800s, the district was hopping with cowboys, saloons, gambling houses, brothels, gunfights, and cattle. It’s been rumored to be one of the most haunted areas in town. I made him take a pic with me before the tour.

I took a quick trip to Dallas for work. It was a 6 am flight, so I was able to see the sunrise from 30,000 feet.

We’ve been enjoying our deck before it gets too hot.
