Tulsa Parent’s Weekend 2024 πŸŒ€πŸ”΄

Our last parent’s weekend at the University of Tulsa! Oma and Papa joined us this year. I flew in from Dallas from a work meeting and Scott and Ali picked me up at the Tulsa airport on Friday afternoon. We rented an Airbnb near the campus. This one had two bedrooms, one bathroom, fenced backyard, sunroom, and horror movie weird room (you know, a weird room where everyone gets killed in slasher movies). We think this room used to be the garage, but it appeared to now be storage, laundry and a weird bathroom with a door to the backyard. πŸ€”

Friday night we ate dinner at Roosevelt’s, a hip restaurant in Tulsa’s Cherry Street area. Saturday, we met at the Starbuck’s on the University of Tulsa campus, which is the largest Starbucks in Oklahoma. While we were there, Scott had to ask Oma “how to order” ice tea. 🀣 He’s a Starbuck’s newbie and wasn’t sure what to ask for since “black unsweet ice tea” is not on the menu.

The we got a tour of campus and where all the electrical engineering students have class and labs.

We finished up at the fraternity house. When you are the House Director, you get your own room, bathroom, and small kitchenette, which used to the the house mom’s living area.

It was the first time Oma and Papa had been in a fraternity house. We got a tour of the upstairs rooms (including bathroom – lol!) and outside deck, the main living room, study room, and game room, plus the downstairs party room.

Some of the crew went to the football game, and the rest went back to the hotel to relax with snacks and a glass of wine. That night we got takeout and ate at the house.
