Much of the south United States is in a heat wave with weeks of 100+ temperatures. Environmental scientist are worried about the rising ocean temperatures and how it will affect marine life and ocean reefs.

Here’s what else we did in July:
Kid #2 drove to Souix Falls with some of his ESU disc golf teammates for a tournament. I wasn’t real excited about him driving seven hours, but he did have others with him, so I guess it’s ok π. It sounds like they had a great time at the tournament, plus visited the Big Sioux River at Falls Park, where the city gets it name.


Kid #1’s girlfriend came to visit. They had a full weekend of activities: zoo, Exploration Place, eating at Ziggy’s Pizza, tour of the sites of the city. Then to the salt mine, the Cosmosphere and a famous ice cream place. That’s like a month of activity crammed into two days.
We finally tried crumbl cookie. It kind of reminds me of Hurts Donuts, but with cookies. We got lemon, fruity pebbles, double chocolate and chocolate chip. It was good, but I still make better chocolate chip cookies. πͺ
The much anticipated Oppenheimer movie debuted. It’s a three hour story of the atomic bomb. After watching it, I realized I should have done some prework before going… there was a lot of information I didn’t know.
