
In my lifetime, there has never been an election as important as this one. As the past four years have shown, voting matters. Local, state and national leaders matter.
Our oldest turned 18 this year, so we scheduled a “forced family fun” day – early voting! A trip to the polls! We did sweeten the deal with lunch after.
Lisa is visiting for a while, and was able to vote by absentee ballot in California.
I’ve never seen a line at the polls before. We had to wait about 15 minutes. There were signs encouraging social distancing and everyone was wearing masks. There were lots of voting stations and it didn’t take long at all.
As of today, nationally, voters have cast 41% of the total votes counted in the 2016 general election. A total of 56.5 million people have voted early.
