Another rainy day post. One eventful weekend both boys had soccer in Kansas City. Zach had two games on Saturday. Adam had one game on Saturday and one game on Sunday.
The 11:30 a.m. game had three lightning delays before it was cancelled. Soon after, the 3:30 p.m. game was cancelled. What do we do for three hours before Adam’s 5:40 p.m. game?
Nebraska Furniture Mart. It’s hard to tell from this picture that it is pouring rain.
It was the closest place to get out of the rain, and big enough for us to “hang out” for a couple of hours. We watched a robot lawnmower. We looked at TVs.
I told Scott we needed a bigger TV for downstairs, because I can’t see the one we have now, and it’s about 10 years old, which is ancient in the technology world. He rolled his eyes until he saw the newer TV’s vivid, sharp and colorful images. We’ve been watching THAT OLD THING for years when we could be watching a TV that looks like THIS???
We also checked out poker tables, foosball and bar set-ups.
Then on to couches. If we have a bigger TV, we’ll need a bigger couch. Plus, our downstairs couch my parents bought in the 1980s – it’s more than 40 years old. It’s time.
We saw an outdoor kitchen for $15,000. Man, it was super nice. I chose not to look at patio furniture because we *just* bought a new loveseat, table and two chairs.
We stayed at Grammy’s house, and the next morning the boys played cards with Grammy and Ted while Scott was refereeing and I caught up on a few work projects.
