July 2022

We finished Season 4 of Stranger Things and Season 3 of the Umbrella Academy.

Kid #2 went skydiving again, this time with another friend.

July 4th was super uneventful – no fireworks this year. Both boys were out with friends, so we stayed home and Ali hid in the closet.

At work, we found out we are exploring a merger with another organization which will require more work and a little bit of added stress.

Oma and I participated in the “Vote No” Women’s march.

We saw our sponsored disc golf basket at Millbrook disc golf course, and later in the month, the boys played in a disc golf tournament.

Oma and I attended an event hosted by our local NPR station “Sorting out facts, truth and opinion.” It was held at a local outdoor bar.

We watched Kid #1 play in the high school soccer alumni game. It was 100 degrees at 6 p.m. 😒 I doubt he has done any “soccer like” activity in the last 12 months. Somehow he survived. Kid #2 was working, so he was unable to attend.

I drove to Colorado with my friend Missy to see Shawna (who I have not seen since 2021 Spring Break). We had spent every Spring Break from 2010 to 2019 with her family, and then COVID hit. Our 2020 ski trip didn’t happen, and in 2021 we stayed in our own condo. In 2022 we skied with another family. It was fun to just hang out with my college friends!

The only “activity” on the agenda was a leisurely floating in a raft on a lake while Shawna’s husband fished. We did catch some fish — did you all know I don’t like to touch fish? And then the hook got caught on my pants! lol!

We also saw a double rainbow! You can barely see the other one above. It was also a full rainbow, which I don’t remember the last time I saw one.
