Kid #2 graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art, Graphic Design from Emporia State University! #StingersUp π
We drove to Emporia Friday afternoon to check into the Airbnb before the others arrived. It was an older home – kind of had a weird layout – but we made it work. It looked like a fairy tale house!
Others arrived later that night.
For dinner, we ordered pizza, and a variety of snacks like cheese and crackers, veggie tray, fruit, salad, and cookies. Kid 2’s friends stopped by as well.
Graduation was at 10 a.m. on Saturday. We left around 9 a.m. to save seats for our group in auditorium. The good news is the venue was only 5 minutes away!

After graduation, we headed back to the house for lunch and more photos

That afternoon, some had to leave, but several went to play disc golf and others just hung out at the house. I think we snacked on leftovers that evening.
I had to take a picture of the cake – because we almost had a cake emergency!
We ordered the cake two weeks ago while we were in Emporia for the Senior Art Show. On the Thursday before graduation, I was attending an event in Oklahoma City and got a call from the bakery. I had ordered a small chocolate round cake with yellow cupcakes around the outside.
“We’re out of yellow cupcakes.”
Huh? How you can you be out of cupcakes? Can’t the bakery just make more? Especially since I ordered this two weeks ago? π€
After a confusing few minutes, it turns out they could make a yellow cake, but not cupcakes. Not sure I quite understood, but after 30 more minutes of discussion, we switched the order so we had a small yellow round cake and chocolate cupcakes around the outside. Crisis averted.
