Mom has been talking about a Colorado trip with me, Sherry, Carole and her for a couple of years. We finally made it happen!
We booked a super nice Airbnb. I think it had been booked, but someone cancelled so we got it for a really good price. Four bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, garage, private sauna (no – we didn’t use it!). During ski season, it’s a ski in/ski out, near Peak 8.

This was the view from the deck.
We hiked, explored downtown, drove to Frisco to eat lunch with my friend Shawna and her family. We visited museums and shopped and enjoyed the Colorado weather.
We took a quick walk near Peaks Trailhead – listening for birds and taking pictures.

The trees were starting to change color.
We visited the Cucumber Gulch Preserve and walked around the Sawmill Reservoir..

We also did a lot of this…
Out and about in Breckenridge…

There was a museum that provided the history of the Breckenridge ski resort. Here’s the ticket prices in the 1960s.
While we were there, the current White House administration were ramping up their efforts to detain and deport undocumented workers. The rumor was that ICE had arrived in Breckenridge, so many restaurants closed early. We did find am open restaurant and the server warned us that it may take a while for our food. We had plenty of time, so we stayed.
On the way home, we saw both fall trees and snow in the mountains.

And, of course, back the flatlands of Kansas.
