Zach’s car

With the Camry on it’s last leg, we needed a reliable car for Zach to drive. This one doesn’t sound like a go-cart!

We’re in the market for another car too, as Adam is taking our Ford Focus hybrid which leaves me with the van. The van still works fine, but we don’t really need it anymore.

Enter the era of the great American car shortage.

It appears a microchip shortage from February 2021 and supply chain challenges have resulted in a huge car shortage.

It’s super weird. Where car dealership and used car lots would be bursting with vehicles, parking lots are empty and used cars scarce. When dealers get cars, they are sold within a day. Car manufacturers have reduced their output, and economist say this will last into 2022 and might be two years before we’re back to normal.
